50th Resurrection

It's Theo's 21st birthday! But unlike most guys his age, he won't be out partying. When does Theo ever party? Instead, he's trying to go about a normal day without interruptions. He's not that lucky though.

a) You'll find him storming out of the bank, as his drone coworkers has approached him with a balloon and a cake. They stand around in confusion as he marches off and makes a bee-line towards home, grumbling.

b) He'll be hiding out in the library, trying to get some peace. Anyone there might notice the man reading books that clearly aren't from the library itself. They're old and well-worn, and any titles rubbed off long ago. He occasionally makes notes in a small notebook as well. Care to bug him?

c) At home, Theo's glad that the house no longer has drones in it, so they won't bring up this birthday crap. Little does he know, though, that the former drone wife has marked the calendar. He'll be sitting outside on the porch, his crows and cat close by. Head is titled back, cigarette dangling from his mouth, and eyes closed, Theo is attempting to enjoy the cooling fall weather. He occasionally takes a sip from a flask in his jacket pocket as well. He's been even more miserable that usual lately and it's even starting to get to him, so he's trying to unwind.

{He looks perplexed for a small moment, before that usual Theo Frown settles in.]

Doesn't mean someone'd remember something like that. Ugh, those damn drones...

[He looks at the gift.] You really didn't need to do something like this.

[Kira found the calendar earlier in the morning, and tilted her head at it. Considering his grumbly attitude, she didn't plan anything though, and the fact he didn't mention the birthday at all when he came home has made her decide to play things safe; or as safe as she can manage.]

[Coming out to where Theo's sitting, Kira speaks to him, holding a glass of coffee down near his face while she does so he can feel it's warmth. If he looks at her, he'll also note she has the calendar tucked up under one arm.]

Long day?

[Since she has the calendar, he knows why. He looks at it again.] You don't have to do that.

B: The Library

[ The former elf's taken it upon himself to explore most of the locations marked on his map, and this is just another one. He hasn't managed to find anything of much interest, though - some manuals on automobiles, but that's it.

He spots a person who doesn't look to be a drone, however - for one thing, he's not smiling - and casually approaches. ]

My apologies for bothering you, but good afternoon.

[If Theo's smiling, there's a big problem. Mostly right now, he looks tired and deep in thought.

When interrupted, he simply looks up, and huffs a little.] You need something?

[ The man shakes his head, drawing back slightly. ]
I've just taken it upon myself to explore and learn about this town, and introduce myself to its other wayward inhabitants. [ He gestures around this useless building with a look of disgust on his face, evidently meaning himself in that 'wayward' adjective too. ]

So, I merely thought I'd say 'hello'; hello. I go by the name 'Sokora', and hope to see you around when you're not as, uh... exhausted, or busy.

[Theo shakes his head. He's just an abrasive guy, this is how he treats everyone.] I'm always exhausted. Doesn't matter. I'm Theo and I've lived here for what feels like forever. You got questions?

[ Poor Theo, if only he knew that his not!children were just as obnoxious as his drone wife was about birthdays. Rin and Yukio knew all to well what it was like to have a day like this over looked. So unfortunately for him, that means Rin has been working away in the kitchen for the last few hours on a birthday (http://images.mylot.com/userImages/images/postphotos/2091705.jpg) cake. Which he is now holding out on a plate to the other. ]

Oi, Old man.

[ And if Theo doesn't answer him Rin will just talk louder. ]

( Meanwhile Yukio is standing in the background and watching, quiet as always in contrast to his louder twin.

He had been a little unsure about this, since he wasn't exactly sure where his thoughts about Theo lay but he knew Rin liked cooking, especially for other people. Besides, as mentioned -- they knew what it was like to have a day like this overlooked. So he couldn't help hanging around and helping out a little, even if the twins clearly missed an important detail concerning birthday cakes proper somewhere in their sixteen years of life.

Oh well! This is a proper birthday cake to them until someone says otherwise. )

[Theo just pops an eye open at the twins, not moving for a moment, before sitting up.

Is that a cake oh god why is everyone noticing it's his birthday uuugh. He can't handle people doing nice things for him.

It's your birthday so... [ Ok this was awkward. They may all live together but that didn't mean they knew anything about each other. ]

We made you a birthday cake. [ And by we, Rin meant that Yukio helped write "Merry Christmas" with the icing. Since Rin's own handwriting is next to illegible. ]

[Guess who sees you drinking there, Theo? It's your now former underage alcoholic buddy-slash-neighborhood demon brat. He drops out of the nearby tree he's been watching from; Lyn travels above eye level at every possible opportunity.]

[He gives a little start at that, and the crows caw hello at Lyn.]

[Lyn shrugs at this.] Don't take it too personally. I sneak up on everybody. [He cracks a grin at this.]

[If you thought you were done being bothered by the not!Family about your birthday, Theo, then you forgot about the pet who likes cooking with apples. Though it's just a plate with an apple fritter that has a candle in it that Applejack sets beside him.]

I had a feeling you wouldn't want some more sweets after the cake the kids brought you.
