50th Resurrection

It's Theo's 21st birthday! But unlike most guys his age, he won't be out partying. When does Theo ever party? Instead, he's trying to go about a normal day without interruptions. He's not that lucky though.

a) You'll find him storming out of the bank, as his drone coworkers has approached him with a balloon and a cake. They stand around in confusion as he marches off and makes a bee-line towards home, grumbling.

b) He'll be hiding out in the library, trying to get some peace. Anyone there might notice the man reading books that clearly aren't from the library itself. They're old and well-worn, and any titles rubbed off long ago. He occasionally makes notes in a small notebook as well. Care to bug him?

c) At home, Theo's glad that the house no longer has drones in it, so they won't bring up this birthday crap. Little does he know, though, that the former drone wife has marked the calendar. He'll be sitting outside on the porch, his crows and cat close by. Head is titled back, cigarette dangling from his mouth, and eyes closed, Theo is attempting to enjoy the cooling fall weather. He occasionally takes a sip from a flask in his jacket pocket as well. He's been even more miserable that usual lately and it's even starting to get to him, so he's trying to unwind.

Dude, that's the BEST reason to have fun! I know about having the threat of death hangin' over your head but that blade hasn't come down yet. Have some fun before it.

There's going to movies, bowling, books, talking to the other prisoners here, you know, stuff like that.

There's the park, and the gym too!

The movies are always the same. I've read all of my books over three times now. I have nothing to say to these people. I actually sit at the park a lot.

Well no. Though honestly it would do you some good, even just for the stress relief that exorcise does. I meant that more as an example of a place to go other then sit at home.

I know you aren't. Come on Theo, lighten up, it was just an example. Why don't we go play fetch with your crows. [Ken is hoping that maybe doing that will cheer poor Theo up.]

[Oh why did you say that, Ken? The crows want to play now, and caw and flap loudly in agreement. Theo shakes his head.]

Well I guess we have to now.

Sorry, well if there's somethin' you wanna do I'm open to hearing it. [Ken smiles a little bit ruefully. He'd suggested it because it had seemed that Theo enjoyed playing with his derp birds.]

[He pats Phobos on the head, and stands up. Of course he loves playing with his derp birds. He's even prepared as he takes out a small ball of aluminum foil from inside his coat pocket. The crows are so excited.]

[Ken brightens up at Theo's words and nods] Yeah! I'm coming! Just let me get my shoes back on.
