24th Resurrection - Tic Tic Boom

[Are you paying attention today, Mayfield? I hope so, or you might accidentally get blown up.

Theo's out on the town, holding an old and faded leather-bound book in one hand, and gesturing with the other. He has a flat expression while he mumbles some words in Greek, casting some spells. He's out today practicing some offensive magic spells, since Marisa was asking him with help on them the other day, he figures he should practice. He wasn't very strong with attack spells, but what else did he have to do in this boring town besides practice on things around town?

Mayfield, you're being treated to small explosions all over town. There's a rush of air and a spark, and things are goin' kaboom! Your car, your shrubs, lampposts, mail boxes, dog houses, whatever. But, his aim and his casting of such spells is a bit off... which might have to do with the fact that, as usual lately, he's a bit drunk.

What else has he got to do in all his boredom when half the people in town he used to talk to now avoid him like the plague, and one of the last people who did now seems droned permanently? It was weird enough having Shina's drone call him "Mr. Crawford", let alone seeing her acting so vapid and NOT drinking tea...

Want to stop him? Join in on the fun? He may not even acknowledge you, and really doesn't give a rat's ass if he gets droned.]

That's right. Aren't you a summon? 'S what you do. Could you turn down their orders even if you wanted to?

[identity profile] hound-of-war.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Usually, it's my call whether I follow orders or not... but a Master gets three command spells. Spells that allow them to give an absolute order than cannot be resisted.

The threat that those spells represent more or less forces Servants to do as their Masters order.

Mm, no, if I was -capable- of magic with tea, I think all I'd do is magic up some that -doesn't- taste foul. But it's the best to be had.

[She pulls out a chair for him, then goes about making tea. She's a bit awkward, having only one hand she can use for the task, but she manages easily enough. She also puts in some toast.]

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
[Just staring at the tree. That IS a rather nice hole, and the control it would technically require to cause it to damage it that way is impressive.]

Getting quite a bit of practice today, are we Theo?

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[Flops down in the chair.] She did that all the time. Made ya drink it. Such a weird focus to study.

Oh yeah. You get your machines built yet?

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Have't got much else to do. Never tried spells like this before. Seems I've been missing out.

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds about right. Never studied summons much. Got a few books on it though. Maybe I should brush up on that next.

[identity profile] ergaleomancer.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I did. The tournament was...nerve-wracking. [She sets a plate of toast down for him while she continues to go about making tea, putting teabags into the kettle and hot water in over them, and getting a creamer and sugar bowl ready as well. She takes everything to the table one by one, as she can't exactly manage a tray with only one hand.]

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I see.

Do you believe you could try them somewhere else, at the moment?

[identity profile] hound-of-war.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose I should be thankful to it for allowing me to exist, but can't say I'm a huge fan of it.

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
[Raises an eyebrow] What, does it really matter? Any damage I cause'll be gone in a day or two. May as well have some fun now, right?

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Fair enough.

[He finishes off his beer, throws the can up and attempts to cast a spell on it before it hits the ground. He doesn't quite make it that fast, and the blast sends the little can skittering down the street.]

Hnn. Need to work on my timing.

[identity profile] hound-of-war.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha, that'd make for a good drinking game.

Or something.

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[Captain Manners here is too self-absorbed at the moment to help.]

Tournament... Had I known that they allowed spelllcasters, I would have joined. I know someone else who was in it too, but she lost. But I could have gotten pretty far though.

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Mmm. I suppose not.

[And he's actually slightly displeased by that. The fact that the constant resetting would end up making it so there were next to no real repercussions for actions hadn't crossed his mind before.]

[identity profile] ergaleomancer.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
[All in all she doesn't mind, and she settles down to take tea with him once it's all made.]

I'm sure you would have done excellently if you had.

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 04:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn right. [Gotta love Mayfield for that. Death and destruction have no mening here. Theo will celebrate this fact by blowing out the tires on your neighbor's car.]

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 04:19 pm (UTC)(link)
[He smirks.] Damn right. 'Specially now snce I've seen what I can do with these attack spells. Would've been fun.

[identity profile] ergaleomancer.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Mm, but do be careful with spells like that around clanks. Exploding them may get you more than you bargained for.

[identity profile] repeatsalvation.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, he has no means to make you stop and, honestly, as long as Theo isn't directing his destruction at Wilhelm himself or his property, Wilhelm couldn't give two shits.]

You're rather adept at these spells for someone who only bothered to cast them for the first time recently.

[identity profile] not-booberry.livejournal.com 2010-09-21 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[FOLLOWING LIKE A CREEPER AND WATCHING--

But when a car explodes? Have some mad laughter and wild clapping. So impressive, Theo-papa, so cool.

[identity profile] knowthestakes.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Magic? Oh, Margarita is on that like a rat on a cheeto.

But cautiously, cautiously....her last impression of this place was that witches were not welcome here, and hell if she'll reveal herself so soon to a guy who just made a mailbox explode, because maybe he hates witches too. So instead it's time to play the "innocent schoolgirl" act- something she's very, very good at, because isn't that what she wishes she could honestly be?]

Hey, mister?

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but it looks like I need more practice.

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
Got a mind of their own?

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-09-22 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
[He puffs up a bit, ans smirks.] I'd like to think so. But what can I say? I'm just a damned fine spellcaster.

[Except for that part where he's getting really tired. Casting really took a lot out of you, especially Theo's style.]
