Action A: [Some of you might have noticed your Christmas light and decorations going missing. None of the big or heavy things, like lawn ornaments, but things like tinsel, small wreaths, strings of lights and the like are disappearing. Or maybe you'll catch the culprits in the act - two large crows who quietly chatter and squawk at one another, as if talking. They might be un-stringing your lights with their beaks and claws, or trying to figure out a way to lift a larger decoration, or both trying to pick up a wreath so they can carry it together. Do you investigate? Catch them? Chase them off?]

Action B: [The bird thieves are not hiding their spoils, dumping them on the lawn and porch of 337 Brady Lane. Once they've collected enough, they caw loudly to get their master's attention. Theo comes out to argue with them.]

What the hell are you doing?

[One of the birds cheerfully flaps while holding a string of lights in his beak. The other caws at Theo.]

Because I don't give a damn about Christmas. Where did you get all of these?!

[Well, Kira's more or less used to Theo's pets by now, since they're always around somewhere, so she isn't so bothered by the fact they're raising a racket. In fact, she's not even really startled by Theo's yelling; he always was rather grumpy. But catching just a little bit of the conversation, she can't help but come outside and stops as she sees the mass pile of decorations the crows have built up.]

[The birds are excited to see Kira, and caw at her their pleas. Theo shakes his head.] Shut up!

[He turns to her.] They wanna decorate for Christmas. They don't even know what Christmas is.

They want to decorate? Why? Do they like the lights or something?

[Asking this because there are a lot of lights in that stack.]

Shiny things. Crows. That's how it goes with them. They don't know what's going on but they do remember it from last year.

Ah... Do you dislike Christmas, Theo? I mean, normally, not Mayfield-style?

I don't really care about it. So if you guys want to decorate or celebrate or whatever, go ahead.

[Kira gives him a long look, as if she's thinking about some things, before she moves over to start sorting the stack of items out; wreathes, lights, tinsel, etc.]

I don't know what happened before you came here, and I know this place isn't always pleasant, but you should try to be happy sometimes too. I mean, even if it doesn't count for much, I myself think you're a pretty good person. [She smiles back at him, then giggles] Even if you are a bit grumpy sometimes.

Goes to show you don't know me very well. Hnn. This place gives me little to be happy about so I think I'll continue acting just like I please.

[Kira childishly sticks her tongue out at Theo]

I know enough to know you aren't a bad person overall. I also know locking yourself away isn't going to help anything, right guys?

[His familiars are definitely in agreement. They love their master, of course. Theo just shakes his head.]

[Well, at least the birds get it. Finishing the sorting, Kira stands and turns to Theo.]

Now, why don't we leave these here, and their owners can come get them if they want? I'll make some coccoa and we can warm up.
