26th Resurrection

[Today Theo can be seen arguing with the drone of Marisa out on the street! H-He may be drunk, SURPRISE. She looks a bit frightened, and he's sort of following after her as she tries to skitter away, ranting.]

Come ON! Not you too!? Margot, then Shina, then Tlachtga and now this?! Christ Al-fucking-mighty!

M-Mr. Crawford, I really don't have any--

Stop calling me that! What the hell is this town doing?!

I'm sorry, sir, but I really need to get to get home!

[And off she trots. Theo is left standing there, looking confused and crushed, which melts away quickly to anger. He turns to head home after a few moments. His two crow familiars join him then, and chatter support at him. To most others, they just make crow noises, but he can obviously understand them. Or maybe he IS just really drunk.]

Maybe, I don't know.

...

No, she's droned too. ...For awhile now.

...

What?! No, he isn't... I don't think he is. Not that it goddamn matters!

...

Because! He doesn't... talk to me anymore, remember?

...

Are you crazy?! What do you know, stupid bird...

[It goes on like this for awhile as he walks through town. But, it results in Theo ending up at Ken's house on Partridge Drive. Feel free to stop him during any of this, or answer the door when he knocks. Loudy.]

[He shots you a nasty glare a moment - who the hell is this guy? - but then he nods.]

Yeah. Shit. Soon everyone I know will be.

[identity profile] knowsitsname.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 03:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that so...I'm sorry to hear that. I was hoping nobody I knew would be droned so soon after I got here...

[Especially not Marisa. But he won't admit that out loud.]

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
It's happening to every goddamn person I know. Christ. I wonder when it's gonna be my turn, at this tate.

[identity profile] knowsitsname.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 03:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Still, doesn't one go home if one is droned? Though admittedly, the thought of acting like a drone is a little disturbing...

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
So people say. Sometimes they come back. Shit... I mean do we really ever have any way of telling unless they DO come back?

[identity profile] knowsitsname.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
It's hard to say. There are a lot of mysteries in this place...

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
We never get an answers. Only more questions. I'm sick of this place.

[FYI, you're being stared at by the two crows, who are perched on a nearby bench. Theo takes a seat with them, and gives one an idle pat on the head.]

[identity profile] knowsitsname.livejournal.com 2010-10-16 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yeah, he definitely feels like he's being stared at. He glances at one of them. Its beady gaze reminds him of Aya.]

Ah...are those yours?

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. They're my familiars. Did you know that even the animals in this town are droned? It's goddamn creepy.

[identity profile] knowsitsname.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Are they? I had a feeling they would be.

Your familiars...so like shikigami, then. So are they not from your world?

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 03:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Like what? No, they're from here. I didn't have any at home. No time for them.

[The more adventurous of the two birds hops a bit closer to get a good look at you.]

[identity profile] knowsitsname.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose you wouldn't know the term, then. They're rather like familiars. Summon spirits, usually animals, used to serve and protect their master.

Then how did they become your familiars.

[Hnnng does not like being stared at. Even by a crow. Yep, this definitely reminds him of that interview with Aya...]

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, summons. Yeah, a lot of magicians where I'm from do it. Not exactly the most subtle magic, but in this town it doesn't really matter, I think.

It was a pretty simple spell. They were undead at first, but the town kept bringing them back to life every day. It was too big of a pain in the ass to keep up on it.

[identity profile] knowsitsname.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
A friend of mine has familiars. Actually, one of them is so powerful that she has her own familiar.

I see. And why crows? Any particular reason?

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-10-17 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn. That is powerful.

I wanted something to keep an eye out for me. It was either this or a cat. I didn't want something stupid, either.

[identity profile] knowsitsname.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, it is. I've only run into her a few times myself. She'll run errands for her master sometimes.

Well, crows are good for keeping their eye on things...

[identity profile] sanctusdei.livejournal.com 2010-10-18 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. Now if they only didn't have that drone attitude. They love living in Mayfield as much as the human drones do.

[Both birds caw in agreement.]
